Running over a Dog

i've hit a cat once in my old honda one was chasing another i hit the chaser it was 3-4 in the morning i turned around to drag it off the road so know one else would hit it but thats it. i thank if i had a dog walk out in front of me i would try to stop, if i couldn't i would hit it then turn around and at least drag it off the road if i could see a owner let them know if not probly drive away. i'd never swarve for any thing but i'll go back. that includes deer i hit one in my girlfriends car thanksgiving night going home it walked out in front of me i tried to stop i couldn't i slamed into it called the sheriff he said if the car is driveable and the deer is off the road then you can just go on home.

went to pick this girl up for a date once and smoked a deer with the pickup truck. the truck only suffered a cracked grill, and the deer was killed. Got to her house and told her about it (she was into huntin to so it was ok) and she gave me a hand throwing it in the bed of the truck. Unfortunately there was too much internal damage to the deer so we had to scrap it.

In the past three years of trucking I have smoked 3 deer, the latest one was at 1:30am tuesday morning. Yeah, Id tell the owner but only if you think you could take him. lol jk

I married the woman that helped me with the same thing once...:headbang:

I don't even swerve or touch the brakes unless I am 100% sure I am clear all around. I curse, but I don't risk myself, family or other drivers over animals.

im the same way. and its actually pretty surprising how hard it is to hit them sometimes. they will run right up to your bumper but manage to stop just before getting hit.

Yeah. I would deff. stop. Imagine seeing your dog being hit, and the people just speeding way.

thats actually happened to me and my family while we were all out in the front yard last summer when all of a sudden BAM! Dead dog...and they just drove off, the assholes:thefinger:!! its definately a crappy feeling.:bawling:

I've got stories!

I was cruisin on my bike last summer and an orange cat jumped out of a Buick in front of me and I braced myself thinking I was about to dump it. But, I missed it by a close call and then I sped up next to the car to tell the lady a cat just jumped out her window and she said she didn't have any cats... hmmm.

In Highschool, I had an 89 GT mustang convertible. That had the worst record for animal-induced damages. On my way to school there was a large dog who would chase cars and I would have to drive 15mph so I wouldn't hit the damn thing. It kept biting my tires and one day it latched on good. I see the dog flip into the air because it didn't let go of the tire and then slam infront of the car. There was no face to the dog anymore and I felt really bad so I go to the owner and tell them about their dog. The lady goes out and starts crying and I feel worse. Then, she picks up a baseball sized rock and throws it at the mustang. Now I have stress marks across the plastics on the front end AND a good dent in the rear quarter panel.

My truck eats kittens, literally. In the winter the cats will sometimes climb into the engine bay and then when I start the truck up in the morning a cat will meet a serpentine belt. Which usually results in me having to clean up blood and hair and put on a new belt or salvage the old one.

Although, I do agree that if there is an animal in the road it is better to hit the animal than to cause harm to another person. If there isn't anybody behind you, brake. Its not acceptible to swerve, though. Animals are unpredictable and swerving won't do much good.

WHAT? I would have been mad as hell!, she lets her retard dog run around in the streets and chucks a rock at your ride and hits it because it basically committed suicide using your car?
