I am currently installing a sound system and can’t seem to run my new speaker wires through into the door. There is so much stuff blocking access. Do I have to remove the dash just to run them, or is there a trick anyone can share to help? I tried coat hangers, I tried long zip ties and I can’t get anywhere? Stock wiring is too small to use for 200 watts rms per channel.I ran some in a 99 and those are easy to do, but my 94 has so much crap in the way on both sides, it looks like I may have to pull the dash…

If the 3rd gen pre facelift is like the 2nd gen, they go out into the engine compartment, through the inner fender, then back past a little foam insert between inner fender and fender to the door - long way around.
The PO of my truck cut the wires (no clue why, they butchered everything to do with the stereo it seems) so I thought I was gonna have to run new from scratch, but found a scrap of the old wire and was able to use that to pull new wire through everywhere - look for some scraps of the old.

Yes the 94 is difficult to get wires into the door. The only internal access is through a small cut out behind/next to the E-brake mechanism and its hard to work in that small cubby. Good luck.

if the old wires are still in the door use those to pull the new wires through otherwise you need to fish a piece of stiff wire through and dig in the little cubby to get to it.

The harnesses for speakers are still in the doors but I can’t access them at the dash. Previous owner cut the harness out for some reason. Only has the power harness wires. I got the radio installed with amp pre outs, remote turn on for amp, and microphone all hooked up. Went to pull new speaker wire and can’t even see the pass through from anywhere. Soon as I get the speakers in I can get started on wiring my window switches. I test fit the late model panels and they work. Just have to drill out the two mounting holes on door pull, and my holes for tweeter mounts.

Would pulling e brake assembly help on driver side? Or should I not do that? I read somewhere not to, cause it won’t go back on correctly. Passenger side I think I could get, I just gotta get one of those flexible wire puller tapes. I tried a hanger and I couldn’t get that through. Too stiff.

You can try popping the rubber boot from the cowl. Fish the wires from the door and out the end of the boot, then fish them through the cowl hole to the interior access hole. Then afterward pop the rubber boot back in place.

Back when I installed in the last century, the best harness fish tool was the drive cable out of an old speedometer cable.

I will try your suggestion tomorrow. Thank you sir!
