Run outta back up..

Ive got a 2000 Ford ranger with auto/tranny that totally quit workin in reverse as it was moving. Now there's nothin at all in reverse and all else works perfect. Anybody else had this problem???? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated...Thanks...

i have had a tab break off of the reverse band in a c5 before but i don't know if the newer a4ld 4r44e and 5r55e are set up the same way as the c5 maybe makg would have more insight into this issue.

i had a friend with an 83 jeep comanchee that wouldnt go into reverse and he thought the tranny was bad and sold it for $40 to another friend and come to find out it was just about 4 quarts low on tranny fluid....may not be anywhere close to your issue but worth checking..josh

i had this happen exactly like u said. the reverse band broke off one of the tabs.
