Rubber Flooring?

Honestly, I had a much harder time keeping the rubber floor in my old Ranger clean than I do the carpet in my current Ranger. The rubber floor shows every grain of dirt, and it gets stuck down in the grooves. I'd clean it out with Orange Blast and it would be dirty again within a week. It's better than carpet if your floor is constantly getting muddy, but otherwise it is harder to clean IMO.

Also, keep in mind that there is still padding below the rubber floors. Some people take hoses to the inside, but I wouldn't advise it. You can still soak the padding and end up stinking up the inside.

See, that's the one thing about carpet. The mud dries, you can break it up and vacuum. The rubber floor, though, it repelled the crap well, but always looked dirty.

That's my biggest delima right now. Dk. Charcoal Gray Carpet, Rubber floor, Or Poly Vinyl......:dunno:

My first Ranger had rubber flooring...it was ratty...could not find one in the junkyard so I replaced it with carpet...

My second Ranger now has rubberguarded floors after I painted them with rust paint...and carpet...but I will be looking for replacments soon...I would not go with the rubber for many of the above mentioned reasons though...carpet is easy to clean...and floor mats work wonders if you get the right ones...

Those pant-savers are the best IMO...they trap much of the melted snow and you can just dump them out every day...

I would like to find replacement underpadding for them that is easy to just whip out and either dry or toss it for another section that is dry...they can easily soak up 20 to 30 lbs of water in not time...and who really needs the added weight?
