2.3L ('83-'97) Rough idle

Scotts90, I couldn’t find a wiring diagram and as always went to an ignition parts list for the year. The DIS available for it specifically is the separate intake mounted type so I wagered it was separate and not PCM integrated. Parts list shows model year 1998 as the new year without a separate ICM.

Oh, no worries, no judgement here :), I've got 22? years experience of reading random stuff around here... until the last few years I ignored the newer stuff since I just had a '90 but am always curious so retained some things... my years might be off since the transition into sequential is odd on the 2.3L, in '94 on California models they had a cam sensor in the distributor hole and I think that was the way '95 models were in the Federal market until mid year '95 when OBD II was rolled out and things stayed fairly similar through the end of the Lima in mid '01...

If the intake air temp is reading wrong that will throw some wrenches into things, especially with MAF...

I'll have to check, but I'm pretty sure it's lower than that some like around 700rpm

I believe you're right. If I set the idle over 800 rpm I get an iac code. I replaced the MAF, IAC, and IAT today. No codes but it is still running rough. I'm beginning to believe it's something internal. Not really wanting to put more money in this old of a truck. This has been a real mystery.
