Rotting hose what is its purpose??? h3lp!

Well from that last description I'd say it almost sounds like the insulation for one of your A/C lines is coming apart. The evaporator is part of the A/C system. It's like the heater core, only cold.

whats weird though is the line my finger is pointing to, runs directly into the intake right beside the EGR valve. :icon_confused: so that why i thought maybe something to do with fuel or something. im not sure what it does, but its a tiny probably half inch on the outside think hose, and i dont wanna run into vacuum problems when im out on a trip.

Yeah, I posted that as you were uploading the pics. Check the edit. :icon_thumby:

It takes the fuel vapors from the tank, it has a storage container, and when the pcm commands the solenoid it burns the vapors off, that line is coming from the solenoid or canister to the intake...

alright. so im taking from this is should just leave it and see how long it lasts? ford says they dont cover hoses in their warranty (Cheap bastards) so i guess when it goes ill just be finding a piece of hose from napa to replace it.

That's what I'd do.
