Yeah, I watched that video but I didn't have a good idea what it was so I didn't make a guess.

Maybe try taking the belt off and wiggling the pulleys to see if any of them seem loose or if they have a bad bearing.

I've had noisy pulley bearings and tensioners on several vehicles but none of them sounded as harsh as yours at startup.

hmm, that's not a bad idea, is it just a 1/2" drive ratchet to pull the belt off?

if it was a wobbly pulley, would it make sense that it stops right after starting?

I think it's actually a 3/8" ratchet. It might have changed from the vehicles I've worked but it's still pretty simple to get off.

It's worth a try to check the pulley bearings, it might not be that at all but at least it's easy to check.

I watched it again, and I have my doubts about it being anything accessory belt related. It almost sounds like it's more of an exhaust type sound to me. Maybe someone who's more an expert will jump in here and be able to tell you exactly what it is.

That is what my guess is ........sounds like the starter is still engaged when the engine is running.

ok, so i'm doing an order from Rock Auto, for the parts that i have defiencies, and since i figure it's 25$+ for shipping for 1 item, and about a dollar for each additional item, it's best to get a bunch... my truck is at 96,200km so it's getting close to a "major service" according to ford, the tires have been rotated, oil, differentials, transmission and transfercase have all been drained and re-filled, what am i missing from this list, that i should tack on?

also, i'm only ordering things that will ship from the same location, which is why i am not getting a replacement O2 sensor (mine is throwing codes)

where do you live that shipping is $25..........you should be able to get an O2 sensor shipped for about $5 and you get 5% off so the shipping is usually insignificant on an o2 sensor

the total shipping i've got so far is $44.48 canadian, the 5% discount doesn't count for shipping, it's parts only.

even with the huge shipping charges, i'm still looking at like 30-40% off of local shops, if not more... the more i buy, the greater the discount, because shipping doesn't go up as fast as the cost of the parts do, due to the initial charge of like 25$

as for the video, i really don't think it's the starter, but i'll check that when i'm looking at it today...
