Retrofit Lighting

Once again, trolling for info on retro-fitting '98-'99 tail lights to a 2004. I am aware that I will have to wire a third bulb into the system. Considering an LED swap at the same time. Anyone...?

I'm working on the same project trying to get '99 tails on my '08.... From what I've learned on my truck there's a plug about halfway down the cab that you may or may not be able to swap with the plug for the '98-'99 trucks. On my truck though looks like I'm gonna have to run all new wires to get the job done.

why do yall prefer the older tail lights w/ 3 bulbs?

i just swapped my 94s for 09s but stayed w/ the 3 bulb system.
