The resulting ride is a bit on the harsh side but definitely more "sporty" (if a work truck can ever really be sporty). I feel it's the KYB shocks that are the ingredient adding the stiffness. I suppose I'll get used to it. After all, the suspension at well over 100,000 miles was definitely beat. I was kind of happy with the crummy ride I was getting with the old shocks. Maybe they loosen up in a few weeks. It feels substantially stiffer than my Mazda 3 but not as stiff as my Cobra. Don't shocks "loosen up" with a few weeks driving?

Shocks shouldn't "loosen" until they're worn out.
What KYB shocks did you buy? They offer different variations.
Have you checked the air pressure in your new tires? Installers like ti set them at max psi opposed to looking at the door sticker. If they're over 30 psi... I would likely air down to 30 psi and test drive.

I brought the tire pressure down to 30 (and yes they had them at 35!). It didn't make a big difference. I bought the KYB Excel G's.

Its the shocks. They are stiffer for sure.
