Replacing Extended Cab Panel

Use fiberglass instead of bondo too. I would say more but I'll have to wait until after school, I am an aircraft structures student so maybe my knowledge of flush aircraft skin repairs can give you a hand hahaha.

yea maybe haha, ive drilled out the spare panel from the junkyard so not its just a skin, now i just gotta drill out the panel on the truck.

i used the spot weld cutter bits from harbor freight i actually only used one so far which suprised me it feels like it didnt even dull it much

over lay the junkyard panel onto your cab, hammmer down any points which cause the patch to not sit flat, tack it once every 4 or 6inches, grind the tacks, bondo the seams, and paint it. did a couple cheapo rocker jobs like this. I know i wouldn't cut up my cab. Outta sight outta mind right

so leave the old panel behind the new one?

fixing this has become a major pain in my ass itd been alot easier if it just didnt flip

I don't see why you couldn't:icon_confused: It'd certainly save you alot of hassle not cutting the old section out.

got it fixed

got my new panel welded on on bolted on a new bed & fenders from a 2wd truck,& replaced my leaky slider w/ a solid glass

i dont know any real details but ive seen on other threads ppl talking about it. i guess they can knock dents out well enough to get so they dont stand out. i think there cant be creases though or cracked paint. i think the one thread this is why i hate having a new vehicle talks about it
