Replacement Engine Wiring Harness 1992 Ranger STX 2.9L 5-spd Manual

Hello,

I am having a great amount of difficulty finding a wiring harness to fit my 1992 Ranger STX. It has a 2.9L v6 and a 5 speed as I mentioned in the title. The old harness that was on the engine melted and became corroded and shorted out. The mechanic I have working on the truck says its pretty much toast. We have searched high and low looking for someone who sells this part. More or less from what we are told it is no longer made. Everyone who have I thought to call doesnt have one and cannot get one. So we turned to salvage yards and have not had much luck there either.

That being said..... What other vehicles can I turn to in order to find a harness that will (or might) work in this truck?

same vintage bronco II with same engine and 5sp should do it. Might be some early explorers that could work??...but others who have done that would have aMUCh better Idea...check out the Tech library here that may give you some help too.

Pretty sure Summit has premade wiring harnesses..."Painless" I think is the brand...prolly others to.
