2.3L ('02-'11) Replace 2003 heated thermostat with later model?

What do I need to do to replace the 2000-2003 heated thermostat with the later model regular thermostat? Has anyone done this? I'm having the computer reprogrammed to eliminate PATS and a couple other things, should be able to have this eliminated also. I'm using a 2003 Duratec 2.3L and 5 speed auto from a wrecked Ranger in a 61 Rambler...

simple as putting the new housing on. the hole in the block is the same.

I put as 2002 engine in a 2005 Ranger, everything swaps or is easily upgraded.
