Removing tailgate?

I didn't see anything in the Haynes or on here.
Maybe it's just THAT simple?


I'm want to remove my tailgate so I was looking at it and one side of the hinge looks like it has a cutout.
Do I simply unbolt the cables and tilt the tailgate down or will I need to unbolt the hinges from the bed too?

Shouldn't even have to unbolt the cables, they should have a clip that undoes one end to remove them.

Lift one side and then the other tailgate comes right off. It is just that easy...

unclip cables , hold tailgate at about a 45 degree angle, wherever the slot is, pull the right side out and then the left.
