Tonight i am taking my truck to where my dad works. I plan on removing 1 or 2 leaves. Will there be any side effects of doing this?

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt and then got the t-shirt dirty fixing it. I don't recomend doing this. The spring pack is designed to work as a unit. Removing one leaf is going to change how the springs work and they will not function correctly. When I removed mine, I ended up with a nice drop that evened out the truck. That lasted a few months then it started to sag. I ended up getting new drop leaves for my truck with in a year. I wasn't hauling much either, altering the spring pack changes load ratings. Save your money and get drop leaves. Or do the shackle flip for the cost of your time and some bolts. Or do the axle flip.

I'm just gonna wait til my shitty dirt road gets paved and them i'm gonna do the flip kit.

Sounds like a plan. I think you will be much happier. You could always do the shackle flip though, it should drop you about 2". It's only take some time and some bolts. I wish I had known about that before I destroyed my leaf springs.

Got my t-shirt too. Do the shackle flip first---only costs 8 bolts/nuts/washers/lock washers & 1.5 hours. If thats not low enough, remove the overload leaf from under each spri ng pack for another inch drop, but don't carry heavy loads, if you do---it'll cause the springs to eventually sag like Illegal said. The axle flip will get you a lot of drop, but you gotta loose a lot of up/travel on the axle.

I have removed the carrier leaf on my 97's spring pack, and it is starting to sag, like other people have said, i bought mine that way, and maybe this weekend im going to my local junkyard to get some stock leafs to put back in, and then ill do the flip kit on mine, theres a couple rangers at the junkyard that have flip kits on them :) itll save me a couple bucks
