I have a gen 2 ranger with the factory decal thats 6 or 7 strips running along the bottom. I was wondering if anyone has removed these and if so if they could post a picture. Mine are starting to peel off in areas and i wanted to see what it would look like with them removed before i take them all off. Thanks.

You can do it but it's gonna take time. You'll need : heat gun (blow dryer won't cut it), goo gone or sticker remover, lots of paper towels, soft scraper (so you don't gouge the paint.

Soak the decal in the sticker remover and let it set for 10 minutes or so. Take you finger nail and try to get the edge up. As you get more off soak it down again in the sticker remover and so on.

You are gonna make a mess and it will take time but it can be done. The draw back is the paint under the decal will be new and the rest of the body will show age. Then would be the time to clean and wax!

I used a decal remover wheel for a drill. It looked like a giant eraser and worked like a charm. After 20 years though it will show because of faded paint.

x2 on the drill eraser. you can get one at any bodyshop and it works great

Naptha (lighter fluid) is the best for dissolving the glue without affecting the paint and alot cheaper/faster. Just rub it on the sticker a few times peel it off then wipe the glue off. A hot air gun works good when you do it right but it always leaves the goo. Get a small can of zippo lighter fluid and give it a try.
