removed driveshaft and lost fluid


No there's no such thing as Mercon III. There is DEXRON III, which is the same thing as Mercon. To the original poster: Use Mercon or Mercon V, that is all.



WRONG, give me your mailing adress and send me $5 and I'll mail you an empty MOTORCRAFT bottle of "MERCON III"

If you won't come up with the $5 just shut up, I grow
weary of the blathering.

In any event the fluid in his transmission shouldn't be greyish clear.

But I MUST point out that on a 1992 Ranger it's POSSIBLE to have a Mitsubishi FM132 and they take 80w gear oil

have to agree with Allan, the thing catching my attention is the "greyish clear fluid" somethings not right to me here. must say "greyish clear" makes me think of brake fluid for some reason, but then again somepeople will use whatever.... :icon_confused:
