remote turbo 4.0L

that would be a china junk turbo stay far away from those. There a crap turbo witrh low quality componets "sweatshop turbo" Get a real Garrett turbo. Ive seen real bran new Garretts T4/T3s go for 350$ on craigslist frequently because someone ditched a build. Or look for a stock grand national turbo off of the 3.8 turbo. Two te04h 13cs would be great for a twin setup and you can find those everywhere on the fwd turbododge cars of the 80s and early 90s. Guys are always selling there subaru STI oem turbos one of those would be ok for mild boost and quick spool.

do you have any for single setup that you would want to part with? i would trust one of yours before i would buy something from ebay or others since i don't really know that much about them.:dunno:

I dont have any useable good turbos at the moment. Im usually too busy to ship things and or too lazy lol. You may try craigslist but research the correct turbo first and check the shaft play out before you purchase anything. if the castings have no name or xs power its a china junk turbo.

There are alot of hidden things to a remote system. The oil return is one. You'll need a pump to pump the oil back into the oil pan. Not to mention all the connections involved to snake the intake to the TB.

Like turbo cat said your best to keep it under the hood. But packaging becomes tight.

By the sounds of things you need to do lots of reading on turbo charging. From what I have read and all the questions you are asking that this is something that is well beyond your fabrication ability.

how is asking ppl that have done this sort of thing before to gain knowledge on what is needed well beyond my fabrication ability?????? if you don't know something you learn, you learn by asking questions ans doing, i would rather do it right the first time by asking ppl that know than f-up my truck in the process...good day.:annoyed:

Asking questions is not reading how to do it.

I'm just telling you that there is lots of material on line. Maybe you should do some/alot more reading before asking questions. That is part of the leaning process. you read and ask questions about something you don't understand.

Questions like this show the true ability of someone.

i am new to forced induction. what would i need to do to install a remote turbo on my 95 4.0 ranger, all stock except for custom cold air intake and exhaust. do i need to recalibrate the computer for small boost turbo?(if so how do i do this?) change injectors? change ignition? i can do the fab work for installation, but the tuning part is kind of a mystery to me.

There is a search button for a reason. If you don't know what is needed for a turbo setup then you don't understand what does what, and why.

Good day to you!

Don't, in your life, buy an FMU. It's a bandaid to the fuel problem and it will cost you indefinitely. Invest in a good set of injectors and tune the truck.

Second, the turbo is everything. After all, what are you doing? Turbocharging. Take the time to research sizing and read around to find one that will fit and work for what you want. It will make or break the build in driveability and street fun. Don't be scared of the whole "oil scavenge" setup for a remote mount. That's the easy part of the build. Work on sizing your turbo and figuring out how you're going to fab everything in. Snaking the intake back up takes some planning, but it works great.
