I own a 2001 Ranger XLT (Appearance Pkg.) with coded key and key-less entry. I want to put a remote start on it.
I would like to know the best equipment to purchase and use.

Ex: http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/2WpWf...s-Entry-Ford-Vehicles-2000-2010-/360330596554 ??

What would you suggest?
Thanks much for any advice ..

I bought my remote start at walmart 6 years ago for $39.99 and I have remote key-less entry and factory alarm.

I called up a local MOBILE electronic installation service who came out to my house and installed it for $65.00 and it has worked FLAWLESSLY for 6 years now!!

I am quite sure people will chime in with their 2 cents worth of opinion on your subject BUT all I can do is speak about MY personal experience with my remote start.

Btw two weeks after I bought my remote start I went back to walmart and bought another one for my wife's 1997 Ford Taurus which also performed flawlessly up until she sold it some 5 years later.

IF my memory serves me correctly this is the model I bought at the time 6 years ago.

I instaled a Bulldog remote start in my '36 and also one in my daughter's Nissan suv (but I had to purchase a separate bypass module to work with her factory alarm/entry system.....

annnnnnnd it only took 6 painful hours with me upside-down under the dash to do her suv.......

pay a reputable tech to do it for you--it's worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remote start

Had one installed in my Suburban about 6 years ago, works great.

When my hot rod took up the garage the Suburban sat out in the snow/heat depending the season, sure is a life saver.:icon_thumby:

You will need to either get a bypass module, or remove the electronic chip inside your key and ziptie it to the reader behind the steering column cover..
