I've decided that I need to get rid of the rake my truck has. So I'm flipping my shackles back to stock, and flipping my axle on top of the springs instead

Unfortunately I need to buy new shocks, since I'll just end up blowing my $170 Edlebrock IAS shocks.

I've searched and searched, and Edlebrock doesn't make the IAS shock in a lowered version for Rangers, nor do they make one for a Nissan Hardbody (thats the shock you can run on a lowered ranger right?).

So I'm looking for a good lowered rear shock thats somewhat comparable to a Edlebrock IAS. Anyone got any good suggestions?

Whatever you do, get quality shocks. I paid $18 a piece for the ones I had on my truck with the axle flipped, and they were shot within 8 months.

Zman, lower your truck first the way you want it. Measure from bolt to bolt with the weight sitting on the suspension. Then call who ever you want to get shocks from. This is what KYB told me to do when I talked with them about getting the GR2's for the Red Ranger. I'm hoping to have some time this week and get it in the air for measuring.

Quick (probably stupid) Question: What are the consequences of putting a 3"/4" drop on my truck (3" drop springs; 3" flip kit + 1" blocks) and...hold your breath... Driving it without drop shocks for a day or so???

No go on shocks from KYB. I need a 15.5" shock when at rest. They had motor home shocks but they would be too stiff. Damn............

I know there are threads for this question but no definite answeres: What are the best drop shocks for a 3"/4" drop? All the stuff I can find on the various sites (stylin'trucks, godfathercustoms, etc.) are for 4"front passenger, 4"front driver, 5"rear, and all that. Nothing seems to be spec'd for the drop I'm trying to achieve. do they make good drop shocks for a 3"/4" set up, and if so, where are they hiding them on the internet???

rear shocks

i lowered my 1993 ranger with a 3/4 drop from djm and the shocks i used were the nitro drop zone 2 they go from 3 to 5 inches and they are a very nice/clean ride as far as cost idk cuz i run a couple shops i get em cheap as dirt but i know they pretty pricy
