Recognizing & greeting Fellow Ranger owners.

Hello TRS members, Last night coming home from work 3rd Gen ranger passed me on the opposite side of the road and beeped his horn to me. This was great and i would have returned the favor, but he was going too fast and wouldn't have heard it in time. Has this happened to anyone else and is the normal greeting?

I get the single finger greeting a lot . . .


I just don't see many old Rangers, or B2s, on the road any more. Kind of a shame.

I've had a couple excited to wave at me.

One was an older guy in a museum ready first gen, he freaked out waving at me.

And then another one that sticks out was a younger kid in a red third+ gen, he waved at me as he passed on the interstate somewhere between here and Kentucky.

No formal "Jeep Wave" equivalent that I know of.

Funny you'd bring this up. Just a couple days ago, I got an obvious Ranger wave from a guy coming towards me in a very nice 5th gen truck like mine. I get waves all the time in my more obvious cars, but that was a first for the Ranger (I've had a few people ask me in parking lots how old it was but never the wave). It sort of struck me, but then I got to thinking - around here, there aren't a ton of these trucks around anymore. Mine is no show truck, it's got plenty of bumps and bruises, but I keep it pretty clean, keep on top of the body work and keep it within 3 or 4 shades of the factory white. It looks pretty decent from 20 feet. I guess sometimes I forget the truck is 20 years old at this point.

We have tons of the 2011 and older rangers here. There are 3 or 4 in the parking lot at work, too, so no one thinks they are cool here

I should attach a couple pics of the rust I found earlier today so you spoiled southerners know what we're up against in the Great Salty North. That was hiding under my weatherstripping - thought I was dealing with a rock chip.

rust......oh...thats not rust. rust is invisible. blue tooth panels
