the other day i saw that my cousins ranger-88 long bed has a rear sway bar, my bro's 00ext cab ranger has it too, so i was wondering can i fit one on mine?
my cousin has an old cherokee laying in his yard so he told me that if i wanted the bar i can have it, it has both sway bars front and rear, the front one is stronger than the rear one, of course, cuz it has bigger diameter.

since both bars are still bolted to the cherokee i can easily get all the parts to swap any of em to mine.
in case they do fit my truck, what improvements shall this give??
my truck is a short bed 2WD, i did a 2" block lift on the rear and 1" spacer on front.
thanks! :icon_thumby:

a broncoII 3/4" bar works very well in my brother's slammed '01. That thing carves the corners like its on a rail....has a 4wd bar up front too. stops like it hits a brick wall too. But different application than yours tho.

ooo, maybe a rear sway bar can help me since it works to mantain the wheels on the ground, and keeping em in the ground could give a better traction on my 2WD?
im leaving the front one stock.

it works by tightening up body roll...theyre also called anti-roll bars.

you want more traction, look into james duff bars and/or a limited slip. and tire choice.

yeah i know, well tires are a must since mine are bald lol, the diff locker is a long term proyect(i hope one day).
so the anti roll bar could help the truck or not?
i mean less body roll is good aint it? specially when the gravity center is raised-will raise a bit more when i get taller tires.

^^And a 4.10 gear for that lil 2.5 pushing I assume 31's?

BroncoII bars are either 3/4" or 1" diameter. 3/4" is far more plentiful. And about an 1/8" bigger than a ranger rear sway bar.

lol no man just 235/75 R15!!
and mtnrgr: thanks for the advice!
well seems like the sport is getting a rear sway bar then! :D
i hope any of those cherokee bars can fit my truck
thanks for the input guys!

my bro's and many others have the BII(all 7.5) bars on ranger 8.8's. Does get close to the shock, but it clears.

i thought rangers came stock with rear sway bar?

i looked at my bros truck today and his doesnt has it lol
but my cousins long bed has it, i believe from the shape of the diff cover that he has a 8.8 diff
im gonna try to see him tomorrow to let him know im getting the bars before he gives em away
