Rear slider rebuild kit?

I'm not sure on this one, either, but the back glass mounting difference may whether it's a regular cab or super cab.

My 95 single slider also has bolts holding it in. I was actually wondering if I could put a solid glass window back there instead.

that seems highly probable. ILLEGALCONCEPTS and i both have standard cabs, while WNY964x4 and Hardwareman both have ex cabs.

Seems like I noticed that my '94 extended cab glass was bolt-in, when I had the interior panels out. Just took a quick look, not real close, but the 1994 shop manual looks like it shows just the gasket type in the "Glass" section.

i think it is a cab thing , come to think of it , my 90 , 96 , and my current one were all ex cabs and they had a single pane slider

my 92 and 97 were reg cabs and they had dual pane sliders

i think you are on to something wicked

and hardwareman , yes you can put a solid glass back there , and i will tell you why

the reason i swapped the rear window form my 96 to the 00 and the 00 to the 96 , the 96 had a sliding rear , the 00 had a solid rear

Thanks! Any particular year, and can I use the old string in the rubber trick to get it in?

for our style truck allen , you just undo the nuts , make sure you have a friend on the outside to support the window , and what i did was go around the the outer edge inside and hit it with the heel of my hand , that will break the seal without damaging the window , and like i said , i put the window out of my 96 into my 2000 , so theoretically , you could use one out of a 93 to 00 ex cab , the 92 - older had a different shape to them , and i am not farmiliar with the 01 - up trucks

ok ok ok, I didn't read the whole thread, but heres the scoop on windows...

EXTENDED CABS up to 1997 used bolt in windows
REGULAR CABS up to 1997 used rubber gasket windows

ALL RANGERS from 1998 on used bolt in windows. These windows will also fit in the older EXTENDED CABS.

i wonder if you cut the studs off of a bolt-in window if it'll swap to a non-bolt in windowed truck...

So basically, I need a solid window from an extra-cab in order for it to fit in my Ranger right?

that or any 98+ window will work.

my rear window leaks, i have a 94 extended cab, what actually seals the window? can i just replace some seals or do i need a whole new assembly?

where does it leak at? Through the slider? Or around the edge of it? It seals to the cab with butyl, which you can get at any paint supply store or glass shop, you would need to take the window out to reseal it though.
