Looking for a rear drive shaft for a short wheelbase 4x4 Ranger. Mine has a ding in the tube and I'd like to have it retubed, but its my only vehicle for the next few months.

Any year with 1310 joints should work.

Closer to central Ohio the better, but I will be making a trip up to Rochester, NY around Christmas.

I have a brand new one that was an O'Reilly warranty replacement for my old '88 Ranger... but it has 1210 joints. You'd have to swap the t-case yoke (think I have one of those too.) Probably not an ideal setup but it would get you by. I never installed it because the slip yoke on the first one wore out and O'Reilly took months to get me another one, and by then I had rounded up a good one with 1310 joints and now my kid has the truck.

I have one from an Explorer that Google says is the same length. I'm in Western KY.

Never thought about using an Explorer shaft until now. I may actually be able to find on of those locally. I'm not super worried about length, I can just have it retubed and keep my slightly tweaked one for a spare.

1210s don't really bother me (that's what my 2wd 88 still has), but I don't think they made a 1210 compatible flange for an 8.8 and I really don't want to swap pinion flanges anyway.

Does it have the double carden joint on the tcase end?
It does not. I'm running one (that I shortened) in a Bronco II with 4" lift. Even given the short length and my steeper-than-stock angle it still doesn't vibrate or wear joints.

I'm not saying it wouldn't work and live forever, but I would feel better keeping the double cardan for this rig. Its also a few inches over a stock 4x4 height (maybe 3"?)
