Rear Cantilever

thats a cool settup for the rear, send me the plans, PM me for my adress...:icon_rofl:

really though, how do you like the FOA's?

i ordered a set of 2.5 non rezi's for the front of my 150, and am kinda curious as to how good they hold up.
Motochris (the owner) is on shoptalkforums (for volkswagens) a lot, so that was kinda the main reason for me ordering, and of course price...

nope, not sharing the designs. R&D is research and development, not ripoff and duplicate.

:shok:

i been thinking of running coilover cantilever to maximize my bedspace in the back and to maximize underhood space in the front in case i want more then one turbo. cantilevering just the shocks many have suggested...but not what i want to do with regular type shocks

why the fawk anyone would need your exact setup is past me, but not sharing it is also past me:icon_confused::icon_confused::icon_confused:. even for a cost....

based on what i been doing the past 20 years...if i do run a cantilever setup...somebody will buy it off me and i will be back on leafs again till i build another one unless it turned out i didnt like it. then i will be happy to have sold it...

i am not bagging on ya here, but at a place like this i dont see it being a hard core data grab from the average shlub hoping to bank millions on others designs.

i do really appreciate the work though. it is a very impressive setup.

It's not his own homebuilt kit, there is a guy that stands to make money off this, as part of his business. The cantilever setup that Mac has allows him to have a full bed, while still pulling 15" of travel. His setup will run very similar to mine, similar travel and similar spring setups, except he has a full bed and only had to get 10" shocks. Compare that to my set up which is pulling 16", with 16" shocks, but I have very limited bed space. I basically have room for two coolers in my bed and nothing else. I like Mac's setup, but I also like not being asked to help people move their cr*p :thefinger:

they used to sponsor dezertrangers so i had seen a lot of the good and the bad about them there. but for the price they're great. mine have no leaks, and when i took them apart to re-valve there were no metal shavings or any debris inside like some people had found previously. i've had them for long enough now that i think any problems would have shown up, but nothing yet.

i've seen a set up in the front like you're referring to. it was pretty cool, but then again it was just a 'lift kit' so i don't know how well it performed.

also like robby said above me, this kit is built by a shop and my truck is just the guinea pig. i didn't design the kit myself and have him build it since i don't have the tools. i probably didn't make it clear enough in my first post.

I'd love this setup on my truck, as I use every bit of bed space when I go camping (I don't travel light, I travel prepared :thefinger:).

Yet it would be great to be able to haul a$$ down a dirt road and go off some mild jumps....with my current setup I need 14" travel shocks for down travel but 12" travel shocks for uptravel. My 14" travel Bilsteins are a tadge long, so I worry about blowing them up when going real fast on crappy dirt roads or coming off a ledge at anything over about 15mph.

Let us know when it is in production and for sale, until then keep up the good work :icon_thumby:
