I have an '02 B2300 and having problems with my rear brakes. They tend to squeak with a loud hollow sound and some times the lock up a slow speed stopping. I replaces the drums, the shoes, and all the hardware. The only thing I haven't replaced are the wheel cylinders.
Anyone have any suggestions?:shok:

Brake problem

I have a '94 B2300 with the same problem. I haven't found the problem either. But I feel your pain. However, I can't ignore it any longer so I may have an answer soon. Meanwhile, I'll keep looking here for help.

Hang in there!

I dont know if you have the 8.8 or not, but if you do there is a little cable that attaches to one of the brake shoes at the bottom and the anchor point at the top, and this cable has a tendancy to break and cause squeeling and for the brakes to lock up because the shoes will not release without it. I don't know for sure if the 7.5 diff has that cable or not. Hope this helps.

Found the problem!

Turns out I needed to replace the brake cylinders. While I was at it, I replaced the springs and keepers too. Now I can stop on a dime! No squeak, no lock-up.
