Where the heck is my jack? LOL

I decided to look for it today, no real reason... cant seem to find it. Don’t have an owners manual so right now I'm SOL if I get a flat. I might still be if it turns out its missing....

Behind the seat. The bar to turn it should be under the hood. I think.

yeah, i think its missing. nothing behind the seat =x

the bar is under the hood though.

should be behind the PASSENGER seat to be more exact. if the jack and lug wrench are missing, there should still be a bracket mounted to the floor for them.

Yep...that's where mine was in the regular cab...but there are usually plenty of them at the junkyards if you need one...I picked one up a few years ago and the guy didn't even charge me for it...maybe he thought I brought it with me...I know I showed it to him and he just waived me away...

yeah there was a piece of crap amplifier back there, but no jack...

ive got a spare X style lug wrench but i guess i REALLY need to hit the junkyard now. maybe saturday morning... damn i shouldnt have waited, its getting COLD now.

ahh, that explains it.

the jack was probably removed to make room for a sub box (as is the case in my truck).

if i may make a suggestion: the stock telescope jack is crap. $10 at wal-mart will net you a 2-ton hydraulic bottle jack (cleverly named "black jack"). its no commercial quality unit, but seeing how rarely it will be used, it serves the purpose. i have 3, one in the ranger and one in each escort. i use them all the time around the yard and they actually seem to hold up just fine.

Priorities! every body knows its more important to have a thumpin amp than a jack and tire tool !!!

The "jack" that comes with the truck is pretty rediculous. If you get a flat in the rain or snow, Youll be out there a while. Get a nice bottle jack at napa or a local auto parts store. I got mine for 30 bucks.

$10 really? i guess i'll swing by wal mart tomorrow. heck of a lot closer than the junkyard anyway LOL

Well, if you need room to put the jack due to limited or no space behind the seat...I kept mine in a plastic bag and stuck it in the spare tire rim along with my jumper cables...fortunately, I didn't have to boost too many people...

But cleaning up the spare tire holder so that it comes down nice and is easy to screw/unscrew doesn't hurt...I consdered that 'regular maintenance' because they tend to rust up and are a PITA if not cared for...
