REAL New England Meet & Greet

would like to install CB with antenna and led's in dash
did not overheat all the way home, thought it would in stop and go on 93
99offroadrngr, would running a/c make it overheat?

well really sucks I couldn't make the the meet & greet, the airforce needed me for my one weekend a month. definetly would love to get together for one as I haven't met anyone from the site yet, I'm sure there's not many of us in western mass. and if you need help wrenching, I'm in as long as I don't have to travel the highway.

let us know what weekend is good for you and we'll plan the next M&G.
thinking wheelin this time, know any spots around this neck of the woods?
maybe a wrench day at my house followed by wheelin?

I'll se what I can figure out for a spot, I just don't want to hit any trails that aren't recognized as trails or otherwise authorized. we don't need a bad rep. but I could be up for a wrench day, what town are you in?

oh nice, I'm only 45 min - 1 hour away from you, I was at westover while the m&g was going on

No trip for me, dad probably wont let me anyways, I dont have cash or a ride, or a working truck, so FML. =P

well there's always next time, just means it's time to get wrenching

need a job first, dad wont let me work on her, and I cannot do brakeline, never have, and I need a new frame, or atleast some help removing the bad areas on mine, but nobody is close enough

well I must say the job thing definetly is a set back, as far as the rest, there is no better time than the present to start teaching yourself how to fix/repair/build and ultimately redesign your rig, I can say from experience ,that you can teach yourself just pick ujp a haynes and go to town, and a welding book for the frame work, you'll learn it all faster than you think, and there's always the rest of us on here to ask questions, hell I've been doing my own work for a long time and I still come on here all the time to get answers.

well, I dont have the knowhow, I dont know where to start, I have never ever worked on a truck, only watched a few, and maybe some disassembling, but nothing more than that

not only that, I have about 0% knowhow of welding, Jason gave me a crash course of using this 75AMP Arc welder from Walmart.

Now its built so bad its hard to start a bead.....

I do not have tools or money to start

don't get discouraged, start small we all did, a few tools here, a few tools there, it'll come together, and getting the haynes manual for your truck is the best way to learn in my opinion, I rebuilt my 78 bronco at the age of 16 with no help or knowledge, just a set of tools I slowly got together and that dang manual, they explain everything in great detail.

but I need a new FRAME, everything needs a professional job done except the small stuff that is expensive, or the larger stuff that is more expensive.

I need a new frame, need a flatbed made (need to buy wood), I also need to work on the engine (needs completely rebuilt and honed out), and even though dad said he would help me, thats BS, he isnt home enough to even listen to me about the truck if he wanted to.

He hates me talking about the truck, and so does mom, she yells at me and tells dad when I even mention it.

a/c shouldn't make it overheat it must be those black leather buckets, time to get rid of them:icon_rofl:. any leaking? maybe the thermostat just needs to be replaced making it an easy fix. i'd probably be down for a wrench day down there. Im interested in seeing how the 08 clusters are compared to the 95-03 ones like mine when taken apart
