long live 6 and 8 cylinders for weekend cruising.

small, light, 4 cylinder cars are the only way to go for getting to work and getting groceries though. 34-36 mpg? yes please! even after gas hits $4 a gallon it'll still only cost $0.11 a mile.

2.9L 6 rocks

but i wish i got better gas mileage

3.53 cheap gass, 3.74 premium

and it was under 3bucks a month or so ago...

I believe if you built a V8 Ranger, with fuel milage in mind, you could do at least as good as the 4 bangers. The best mpg I've recorded with my '98 Explorer 5.0 was 24.6 mpg. When my '98 Ranger had the 2.5 and 5 spd it would get 27 mpg. Not that much of a difference when you consider the weight difference and stuff. Now, if you took a V8 Ranger, put an economy tune in it and a set of 3.08 gears, I don't think 30 mpg would be out of the question.

Better yet! Long live the thumpers. 65mpg on a 1cyl 250cc Kawi. But still, the Ranger gets more loven from me.

2.9L.....the best engine ever built.

later,
Dustin

haha, i feel lucky gas is still under 3 a gallon here, and most vehicles i have owned havent gotten any MPG, i got GPM, like my 85 f-250 with a worked 460, 1 tons and a decent amount of motor work got 1.7 GPM gallons per mile :P
