Rare B2

Well, certainly not common. Possibly a transplant, but it could be a one-off. They did take custom requests back then.

If it doesn't have the dummy t-case, then its probably not factory.

i've never heard of it either... only 2.8's and 2.9's... and then the swapped in stuff.

a 2.3 turbo would be neat in one tho lol.

might be a 2.3 diesel.

I emailed the guy. I will post what I find out.

2.3? Never seen one in a bII.

The general production ones were all V6. But then common knowledge also says that all 1st gen Explorers had a 4.0.

We have many reports of fleet and custom order Explorers with 2.3L engines here on TRS. One guy says his dad custom ordered a 2.3L 4x4 manual Explorer in 91 or 92. This might be something similar.

Have somebody run the vin #. I know that in Mexico they came with a 2.3 L diesel motor up to 87 or 88. I bought my second BII new in 89 and the Ford dealership gave me the sales brochures for the Bronco's and the Rangers and none mentioned a 4 cyl motor in the Bronco but the 4 cyl was listed for the Ranger.

So the guy never responded to my email and there is no phone number listed on the ad. Maybe he doesn't want to sell it.

I could get behind that idea.

Might even try it one of these days if I ever get enough money, time, and boredom.
