not so sure of all p metric tires being 4 ply as some brands of tires carry a p metric standard load & p metric Extra Load & a Lt in the same tire design. The EXTRA LOAD actaully have a more load capacity then the LT by about 30-50 lbs per tire depending on manufacturer
I ran P215/70R15 on my old 98. Had no issues, ran them @ 30-35psi for everyday stuff, or @45psi if I was towing a small trailer/ jet-ski/ or hauling in the bed. SUCKED in the snow, took 9 cinder blocks to make it go as good as the previous LT BFG A/Ts.
Kinda funny actually... P-metric tires on forged aluminum Alcoa wheels.
My Ranger came with P tires and I have always used P tires. Its 2wd and never hauls anything heavy. Using Coopers now. Coopers are quieter than the Tiger Paws I used for many, many years. That's my original Firestone spare tire. And a photo of one of the 3 Delta Road Max tires that came on the deerhoof rims I bought.
