Update:

The other driver did infact admit fault. He claims he had the cruise control set at 65mph and did not brake until collision. Although the truck is still very much capable of driving, the "cosmetic" repairs will meet or exceed the value of the vehicle ($3000) so I'm pretty sure HIS insurance company will consider it a total loss. I am very loyal to my truck (plus I have most of the parts to fix it already) I will buy the truck back and repair it. Why keep the truck? That little ranger gets awesome gas mileage and the 4x4 is equally beneficial. The 3.0L has a lot of aftermarket parts on it already. And I have the tailgate, roll pan, and other junk that needs to be painted so why not.

On a side note, I really shouldn't have pulled the engine/trans on the V8 ranger last fall, lol. My plan was to stroke the engine to 331ci. So currently I have to drive the Ranger with a "kiss mark" on the back. Oh well.

well it sucks its might be toast. good to see you wont let it die

Ok, what the hades is "JY" ?????

Damn! the same thing happened to me last october.. guess what i just settled.. insurance can be tricky. the truck was in ok shape, i was not...

thats the only reason it took so long to settle.. i just wanted em to pay my medical bills..

well get the truck fixed up! and best of luck..

your truck would have been in far worse shape if his bumper connected with yours.

this has a simple explination, he was braking hard, so the nose was down and you were doing the same which puts the rear of your truck high. he came in under you and only had sheet metal to slow him down.
