Ranger Pricing and Online Build Released

F150's lost the 5 speed behind V8's after '97, 4wd V6's after '03, and 2wd V6's after '08. So yeah - there were a few past '03, but only if you wanted a base model 2wd V6.

You could get V8 manuals after '97, I think up until '08. Pretty sure the V6 manual died in the '04 Heritage though (which is the 97-03 bodystyle)

I swear they made 10:1 more V8 5-speed 4x4's than V6 4x4's.

Thus why I have no interest. Whatever a truck can do for street performance a car can do better. If I am going to have a go fast playtoy it will be a car.

SRT10 RAM, Lightning, Silverado SS owners probably disagree, as most of these are secondary vehicles for most of the people that buy them. They have a regular truck and then their go fast truck. They all can be daily drivers but not sensible ones die to gas prices but nothing different than the Raptor. All that hp, even from a turbo v6, is gonna cost at the pump. I would nevery buy a niche vehicle as a daily driver.

Correction to my previous post - you could get a 5 speed behind the 4.6 through '03. Nothing I've found so far indicates that it was available past that except with the 4.2.

You got that backwards I think.

You could get a 4.6 manual trans until 03. You could get a V6 manual trans through 05 or 06.

AFAIK the 5.4 was never available with a manual in an F150, but I have seen one or two strippo Super Duty trucks with that combo.

After 08 the F-150 did not have a manual trans option, but you could still get a manual transfer case.

I might be.

I have seen two F-250LD/7700's (seven lug trucks) with the 5.4 and some kind of manual. I didn't crawl under to see if it was an M5 or ZF though.

So, if you want a extra cab midsized truck with a turbo 2.3 and 10 forward gears, the new ranger is for you. I'll keep my single cab and wait for a donor and build the truck I want. No hard feelings and see ya'll over in the "Lightning vs Raptor " thread. Check out the SVO vs EB video I posted in the entertainment section.

Just received this via email.

Wonder if orders have been slow coming in?

$750 off of a $35k truck, that made it downright affordable.

It would probably help orders if they released numbers on the thing. No way I would sign up for one if I don't know if it can do what I need it to do.

Yeah I got a chuckle out of it as well.

I won't pre-order one until I test drive one. I just hope the HP rating is north of 280....300 or more would be ideal :icon_thumby:

You can buy the same 2.3TT in the Mustang Ecoboost Package right now. Why wait ? Get a tranny at car-part.com and your golden.

I still think cars should be built for racing and trucks for working, tho.

Also, street racing is illegal.

The specs have been published and are easy to find. Around 300 hp and 350 tq.

Same - I've seen nothing official to date.
