It seems every year we lose more aftermarket parts for the Ranger.

ProComp has stopped offering their prerunner style light bar

Skyjacker has stopped offer the 8-inch suspension kits

Warn has stopped offering a grill guard/winch mount for the 1993-1997 Ranger.

The only one that worries me there is the lift kit.. the others can be fabricated.

Sucks though. Are they going to make the old stuff still (like 3rd gen) or nothing at all?

I'm sure the economy hit these companies fairly hard, especially in their customer base, so they've got to drop some of their part line-ups. But I would've assumed that they would want to keep these parts around, since there is so many Ranger's out on the road.

Side note: Wasn't the 8-inch Skyjacker suspension sort of unnecessary? That seemed to be the cause from what I've read.

From what I heard, the 8 in Skyjacker kit caused more problems than what it was worth. That's probably why they discontinued it.

it depends who u ask, mjones would swear to you u can have proper alingment, but others know thats not the case lol

Bob Dylan sings about 'The times they are a changing'. And it is true. There never has been too many bolt on items for our Rangers as we all seem to know. It seems that for certain years you can order a bolt on item and for other years you can't.....got to fab it yourself!!!! For my Jeeps I can order anything and bolt it on. When I had my Tacoma I could order anything and bolt it on. The Rangers just aren't in a desirable accessory market!!!

I agree with Straycat. Parts have always been less easy to acquire for the Ranger/RBV crowd, and guys with sucky welding fab skills, like myself, stand even less of a chance.

I remember being on backorder for my Autofab kit for several months from various vendors (when I had my 2WD), and other parts were a PITA even 7 years ago for Gen III's.

It's kind of sad to see the ProComp light bar go...I was contemplating ordering one soon...

Didn't a number of companies discontinue the 5.13's for D35 and 8.8? If it wasn't some a guy selling some 4.88's on here a couple months back, I would have paid a lot more for such limited items.

What's next to discontinue? Ranger billet grills, carpet kits, fender flares & flared fenders?

Every body is so obsessed with fullsizes...

This is true, there never really was a strong aftermarket support for Ranger's, at least when compared to other off road vehicles

It seems every vehicle has its heyday. I got mine in '00, and aside from lifts (that crossed over to newer trucks) there never has been much of an aftermarket for it for as long as I have had it. I used to see them all over too, the herd has really thinned in 11 years. It only makes sense that with fewer on the road demand for parts will go down, and that is probably catching up to the 3rd gens too.

You know...I have a Samurai project that I am working on that I bought so many bolt on parts and there are a lot of Samurai guys that build neat bumpers and stuff. One guy I met makes a neat bumper that I liked a lot and I had him make it to my measurements to use on my 99 Ranger. He built me this bumber for under $300 with shipping included. I told him not to add brackets since I will tack on my own brackets. I can weld a bit but I just can't weld a neat looking bumber.

Here is what he built me. I plan on putting it on next summer...got too many things going on this year!!!!

Barbie drives one, thats why everything is a simple bolt on

Haaa lol....good one, Bro!!! That just shows you how popular Jeeps are and how unpopular the Rangers are....Barbie won't be caught dead in a Ranger...lol
I will never sell my 06 Wrangler...my Ranger yes but not the 06 Jeep. It goes anywhere and it has the good 4.0 in it...before Jeep went to the 3.8 crap motor.

well barbie had an affair on a Ranger, but she wont admit it because of Ken.
