Ranger packages

Wasn't the Splash just a 2wd 4.0L regular cab flareside with a sticker? Was it even necessarily a 4.0L? I've never had a chance to drive one, I've only seen them around.

Friend of mine had one, it was a 1994, extracab stepside 4.0 auto 2WD in orange.

The trailheads were a 3.0 flex fuel im not so sure about the sticker (mine doesn't have one) they also had tachs, fog lights, the xl trim, 245/75 on alloy rims, and had 4.10 in an open 8.8 (all this came from the window sticker)

The Off-Road package was an option package on the XLT from 98 to 02.

The Off Road package was available at least since '93 (I factory ordered my '94 with it). It wasn't until '98 they made it more prominent with stickers and advertisements and such.

'93(?)-'97, the package included the 4.0L engine, 3.73 ratio Traction-Lok rear axle, 265/75R15 (31") tires, heavy duty shocks, and t-case & fuel tank skidplates.

For '98, it included 245/75R16 tires on 16x7 alloy wheels, fog lights, heavy duty shocks, t-case & gas tank skids, but also deleted all the chrome off XLT models. Both the 4.0L V6 and Traction-Lok diff were no longer part of the package either.

'99, '00, XLT's got to keep their chrome again, and the axle ratio was bumped up to 4.10 (but still no included Traction-Lok diff).

I've got an '05' STX, 3.0 with manual, std cab, rubber floor mats but came with the carbon fiber dash panel, bucket seats, manual windows. Seems like a really odd mix to me but I love it!
