Ranger on Explorer

Why the Hood swap? Looks good, I was just wondering if their was a reason for swapping the hoods, other than the gas struts.

Thanks! It's my sons build, and it started with him wanting the gas struts and then realizing the hood had just a little more of a bump in the middle and thought it would look better than the mostly flat Ranger hood. It actually worked out well since as I understand it, if you want the gas struts with the Ranger hood you need 2 of the same gas strut (both right I think). And since this is a budget build, it made sense to use what we had :)

Finally got the rear mounts fabricated and installed! Modified the Explorer core support by adding the top ends pieces from the Ranger to fill in the gap, and should have welder here this week to get it together for us. Also a cheap fix for the e-brake cable support since it originally passed through the frame mount... a shoulder machine eye bolt from Princess Auto, with a few washers, lock washer and nut.

Looking good. What's the plan for a bed

The plan right now is get it off the garage floor so my wife can have her parking space back lol.Seriously, not sure yet. We'll get the engine bay and interior done since that covers 99% of the build. I'm assuming we'll have the fabricate something

“The plan? Put this thing back together and drive it!”

I feel that.

Got the final welding done!

Finally back at it! Truck is driveable and most of the interior in. Just need to finish up some minor interior electrical and get the bed mounted ;)
I'm needing to convert the power window and door lock wiring from the Explorer to the Ranger.... If anyone can tell me exactly wire for wire what needs to be connected I would appreciate it! I have the wiring diagrams and have lost the rest of my hair trying to figure this out :)
