Ranger Motor Swaps

hey everyone im kinda new to the site and have a question about swaping motors. My brother and I have a 1990 ranger that sadly ended up climbing a tree so the body is almost trashed. Someone my dad works with has two 86 rangers and one the engine is gone. I want to know how much work it would take to swap my brothers 2.9 in to the other truck and if I need anything extra to swap the motor over to the 86.

Should be pretty plug and play. I'd strip your 2.9 down to the long block, redo all the easy gaskets while you have it out, and use the 86 manifolds and sensors, but other than that it should be pretty straight forward.

the engine in the 86 is a four cylinder will it still swap over using the comp and wiring in the 86 or would everything need to come over
