Ranger/Mazda transmission

I have a 92 Ranger Sport that the transmission (Mazda 5 speed) is heading south. Have an opportunity to pick up a 90 Mazda PU 5 speed at a good price. Is this a direct swap?

If they are both 2wd, and same engine, yes, they'd be the same tranny.

No the Mazda will not if it is a '90

1993 and older Mazdas are completely different trucks than Rangers. There's pretty much not a single part that is interchangable between them.

They are right. The later 94 up Mazdas are same platfrom as the Rangers...so NO on the pre 94 mazda tranny.
