Ranger 6 7/8" ring gear question?

Does anyone know if the axle housing for the rangers with the 6 7/8" ring gear is the same as the 7.5" axle? I had never seen anything on the 6 7/8" until this website and I bought already a 7.5" 4.10 gear set and carrier knowing I did not have an 8.8. My axle code is 72. Just wanted to know if I am going to have to put that stuff on ebay. Thanks.

No, 7.5" gears and carrier won't fit into a 6-7/8" housing (sorry).
