I have a 96 ranger that i am currently caging it front to rear. I decided to pull the ABS module (4 wheel ABS) to make room for my coilovers and i will be re-plumbing the front brakes anyway. I spent countless hours in the Ford repair manuals and EVTM's, but cannot find the info i need. On the master cylinder, the front line coming out is for the front brakes, and rear is for the rear, correct? Also, should me pulling this module interfere with any of the other modules (as the system is mutiplexed) other than setting an ABS code and triggering the light on the instrument cluster? This will be a daily driver for the next year as well. It looks like the VSS might be affected, but am not 100% positive.

Help is always appreciated. Thanks in advance-

BTW, 96 ranger 4.0 manual trans power everything, reusing the stock dash

i removed the abs unit about two years ago. no trouble with anything else. the proportioning is done inside the master cyl. you will just have to remove the idiot bulb inside the cluster. good luck

did you run hard line from the master down in place of the pump? Is the pump and separate control module completely gone from your truck? I just want to make sure, brakes are somewhat important:D

i just removed the pump and module, ran a hard line to the rear brake line, and the ran a line and put a tee in it to the front lines. my abs module was toast so after it was all removed it worked great. it took longer to flare the lines than the rest of the repair.
