Radiator

I think i will buy a ranger 4.0L radiator. I will keep the engine mostly stock(185HP), Ford the transmission i plan to put a separate cooler. I will be able to fit the rad without torching the front end of the truck.

I took a sawzall to the radiator support and welded up a frame for the radiator from my donor 89 mustang, after I got tired of screwing around with the 4 core James Duff radiator that would never stay put with the crappy tin mounting plates that are attached to the bottom. As soon as I filled it with water the first time it was sitting on the lower radiator support because it bent the cheesey little brackets. It also did not give enough clearance for a clutch fan, or the factory lower radiator hose, from anything. The final straw was when the bolts attaching the radiator to the upper support yanked out on the highway driving back from a long hard wheelin mission and sh*! hit the fan so to say. I like this setup way better, but it would not fit between the hood and the top of the frame rails without the 3" body lift.

I've finally install'd a Cherokee radiator.

I haven't taken any pics since I painted it and mounted the latch and cooler but I'll post some soon.

I too and going to be adding 4 more cylinders under my hood. What can you recommend to me to make this as easy as possible?!

I will have to modify my batterie support. The upper radiator hoses pass over the support......

The 89 mustang donor I took apart had a plastic battery tray that unbolts from the inner fender. Maybe you could make use of something like that?

Ok i've just remove the original battery tray, turn it 90 degree and reweld in place.
