Hey, I have a 91 ford ranger with a 4.0 and the Cold fill tank for the radiator is not staying full. I would fill it one and day and about 2 days later it would be empty. When I checked the radiator it has the correct amount of coolant. the truck runs fine and does not over heat, So i know its not a blown head gasket. I was thinking that there may be a crack in the tank but i cant see one visible. I do not see any leaks so I have no idea!

might just be a loose hose to the tank or a hose that is dry rotted and weeping. they are just a push on barb connection. Perhaps replacing the hose to the tank and using a hose clamp at the bottom of the tank would help.

Another area to look at would be the radiator cap. If it's not sealing on the radiator properly, it will just spill over the neck of the radiator.

A hose clamp?

On every RBV I've ever owned I've needed to
ADD a hose clamps to the oveflow hose

On my current setup I substituted a clear vinyl hose
and it's retained with lawnmower fuel line hose clamps.

Why? a consistant leak from the reservoir.
