RaceRangers Build

It's steam from the radiator. I have all the coil overs off so its easier to pull the motor in my garage . Ya the trucks pretty beat up. I'll have her tip top again by June.

Thanks man, its coming together. This new motor should make good power.

Can't wait to drive this think with the extra ponies.

Are those 165s? I was just reading from hotrod mag that the 165s they bolted on that were 50 state street legal gained them 100 ponies ????? That's crazy for heads I think that's the route I'll go,
http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/engine/116-0307-ford-302-v8-engine-buildup/

These are the 185s, didn't need them to be street legal and these will leave room for improvement and work well since the truck lives at 5k+ RPM. But ya heads can make a huge difference. Should make the truck keep up with the "big boys" a little better.

That is going to sound good and haul some rear as well with these parts your adding.

Ya I can't wait to hear it! Years later I finally got around to installing those corner lights you sent me. They had got misplaced when I moved and I recently found them. I'll post a pic when I get a chance.

Yeah, if you don't mind, what engine set up are you going to run? Stock bore? What cam, what compression ratio etc?

HOLY SHITTTTT! I just spent like 4 hours going through this whole thread and it was time well spent :headbang: Thats a bad ass truck man. Keep it going!!

Thank you! Glad you like the build. Hoping to have the motor back together by the end of this month. Been doing a few other things to it in the meantime.

Who makes those motor mounts? Whats up with that pan? you going dry sump?

Thanks mtnrgr, recognize the corner lights?

Mikeyb no this pan holds 3 more quarts, has baffles to keep oil at the pick up and a windage tray. Trying to do all things possible to keep this motor happy. We made the motor mounts for it.

Haven't had a whole lot of time to work on it lately, but I did just buy a tow rig and started the process of making it a chase truck.
