typical jeep recovery.the back hole was swallowing up almost everything.more time was spent pulling rigs out of here than racing.got through it with the b2,though.

i made it through my two qualifying runs good,top three race again for the money.$1000 top prize.last run,i rev it up,ready to give it all i've got....and bang.no wheelie this time,but it's still going-then i realise the back wheels aren't doing anything.was able to drive off the course with the fronts,and found this:

so i went home with a hat.oh,well.it's all about the fun,but next year i want to take the cash home-even if it means i have to spend another $2000 to get a chance at the $1000.makes sense,doesn't it?

Heck, I spent $500 in parts, then another $200 to drive 8 hours to go bogging in a river bottom where first prize was... wait, there was no prize.

yea,i've been doing this for years-spending tons of money and time when usually there is no prize at all.at least here there is a chance,which is a surprise considering that there are only 4300 people on the islands.this event has been running for 40 years now,and is taken pretty seriously.too bad it's only once a year,though.but it gives me something to look forward to all year

maybe that's how they do it-there isn't enough from entries to cover it.i think local businesses cover most of it.
