My old turbo muffler rotted itself to death and fell apart the other day. Not a big deal, I bought it used 2 or 3 years ago for 20 bucks, and it never sounded awesome, but wasnt bad.

The truck is a 97 2.3 5 speed, port matched upper and lower intake, no intake baffle, and ported header ports(because of poor casting). With Catalytic still intact as It should be.

I'm just looking for a quiet, yet good flowing muffler. I know what a 2.3 sounds like and I just want it quieter. But I'd rather have it loud than restrictive.

My girlfriend is riding me that my truck gets more $$ attention than she does, so cheaper obviously preferred, but not to the point that quality is crappy either. I'd prefer a fully welded muffler.

What do all you experts reccomend for quiet, cheap, and good flowing mufflers?

Thanks for the help guys

I would go with a 2 foot Glasspack (shorter ones sound like those fart cans on the lil rice rockets)Theyre cheap (like $25) welded and louder than stock (usually in a good way) Search youtube for 2.3 glasspack for some videos with sound to see if thats where you want to go.

You have a 4.0, not a 2.3

No really?! The point was to show Flowmaster's series of mufflers. And I even said sound would be affected by the engine.
