Quick and generally easy question... lol

while a typical Win7 install runs <20gb I still like using a MINIMUM of three thime
the installed size of the OS (with all programs installed)

SSD's DO wear... they need lots of additional space for wear leveling.

Frankly on a Win7 setup I don't think I'd consider anything smaller than
an 80gb SSd for a system drive.

A further note, anyone who doesn't maintain a clone of their OS install is someone who is willing to LOSE their entire setup.

He makes a semi valid point, it's not a bad idea but something that's over the top for most users in my opinion.

and AD if my OS drive crashes I don't LOSE anything but a little time. The only thing any drive of mine that dies would LOSE would be digital pics but those are backed up else were, anything else is either on disk (programs) or easily obtainable online.

His point is like wearing two condoms. It is better protection but hardly worth it. I respect Allan when it comes to Rangers but he is a google expert on everything and frankly I lose respect on anything but trucks. If he was an IT expert his life would be much different.
