Question on tires

yeah, stay away from food when hallucinating, FOR SURE!.

. . . and the movie LEGEND.

because SATAN is in that movie.

Problem was everyone was too high to realize the DD was drunk.

Been there done that.

Haha nah, not this one. He's a good kid.

There's no public transport up here in the woods, so If you get an oui your screwed for 6 months. *most* of my group of friends growing up was smart enough to not take that risk. A couple have gotten so many ouis that they can never have a license again -__-

Took a little trip last fall and watched dead alive followed by terrifier.

I hadn't seen terrifier before... made it about 20 minutes in and had to shut it off lol.

Awwww yeeeeeeeee!

No one ever realizes just how cool marble floors or counter tops are until you stare at one for 40 minutes while out of your gourd on little strips of paper lol.

Or how much fun it is moving M&M's one at a time from one bowl to another, with chopsticks. Funny, but I haven't seen any M&M's in quite the same colors, since that time.

Man, no amount of chemical influence would give me enough patience to move m&ms around with chopsticks 😅

I DID however smash a few muffins with a rubber mallet because they tasted like sheetrock. Named it the hammer of justice. Last time I saw it, it still had bits of moldy muffin on it.

It's the little things in life that make it so enjoyable, really.

Anyway, back on tires, I'm getting 2 of the Custom 428 A/S 235/75R15 105S
That's an exact match for the rears, which have a ton of tread yet. I think it's best to have a matched set so I didn't do any more research than that. I think those tires are pretty good.
The fronts on there now are Hankook but now I will have a matched set. NTB $216 mounted and balanced for the 2. Not that bad. I looked at buying the tires elsewhere and they were higher everywhere.

Since I drive 95%+ highway too and from work, I like the Hercules passenger tires I put on.

my little truck came with michelin defenders. they have been good for the time i have owned this truck

So not that it really matters at this point, but I’ll share a few tidbits…

My first Ranger (2000, extended cab, 2wd, 5-speed, 3.0) called for the 225/70/15 tires. At the time they wore down and needed replaced there wasn’t many options in that size. I actually ended up calling Ford (not my local dealer, the manufacturer) and asked what was safe to do (I really didn’t know much back then). They said it would be safe to go up or down one tire size (235/75 or 215/75) and 235/75/15 opened up a world of different tire options, so that’s what I did. Interesting enough, my speedometer was slightly off from the factory and the 235s corrected that. I never looked back with that truck, just kept going with the 235s.

I always ran a decent AT tire and found that for the most part they did reasonably well in the snow. Originally I got a set of AT tires for the front and MT tires for the rear for winter, but that only really worked better in deep snow. I did buy a set of tire chains and that 2wd was a tank with chains. I bought them from www.tirechains.com, last I checked they were still making them in PA, so better than cheap China ones.

About 400# seemed to work good for AT tires in snow, but if it was deep snow and MT tires, less weight worked better.

Hankook Dynapro AT tires suck in the snow. Same with Nexen AT tires. Remington and Sport King were great AT tires all around but neither are available anymore. My parents have been pretty happy with Mastercraft Courser AT tires, I’ve been running the CT/CXT ones. Mastercraft is Cooper’s old patterns. My 92 had Kenda MTs when I got it and they did surprisingly well.

I think the 235's look better, I think it raises the truck just a bit. Kind of no brainer for me since the rears have ton of tread left and I wanted a matched set. If I were getting 4 it might be different story. Fronts were Hankooks they don't even make the kind on there any more even if I wanted them which I doubt.
