I just bought a set of 5 spoke Mustang wheels off a 95 GT and they have 245/50/16's on them right now. They are 1 inch and a quarter shorter than what was on the truck before. The old onesa were 215/70 or 75/14's. I am ordering new tires for the new wheels and want them to be about the same height (possibly a little bigger), but pretty wide. Any idea on what size tires to buy?

ok, thanks I think i'm gonna go with 235/55-16's....my stock tires were 25.9" and the 235's are 26.2"

well, went to order the 235's and can't find too many......thinkin about changing my mind. What size tires do you guys run on 2 wheel drives with 16's?

225/60-16 and 235/60-16 are pretty common and would fill up the fenderwells better.
I hate fenderwell gaps.

which would be wider? 225/60-16 or 235/60-16??

The 235. That is the tread width in millimeters. It would also be slightly taller than a 225.
225/60-16's are pretty common, that's a standard size on some Cadillacs, Lincolns, Crown Vics, etc. The 235/60-16 is not as common but they're out there, even at my bud's tire shop he has that size in a generic brand.

235 is the width in millimeters. 60 is 60% of the width from the rim to tread, which is called the sidewall aspect ratio. If you want wider but same height, increase the first number while decreasing the second number.
