Question about Marvel Mystery Oil

No it is not!!! It has great write-ups in every car, truck, offroad and desert racing areas. I have used it for ever and I have used it everything I have owned and it works.

Works how? What do the engines do differently with it in there? People have had that stuff analyzed, there's proof that all it is is an oil thickener with no beneficial additives.

lucas makes more than 1 product, when i said lucas, i said lucas OIL, not stabilizer... i have lucas gear oil in my diff, and have used other oils from them for years...

this is what's in my diff

this is lucas oil stabilizer, which does NOT change the viscosity, it changes other principals, essentially it makes the oil slimier, without making it thicker... thickness can be measured in how difficult it is to stir something with a stick, where as slimy is how difficult it is to wipe the substance off of a surface it's on...

Not trying to be a sh*t, but I beg to differ. When I had my Ranger, every day was race day! I beat the crap out of that truck/engine and the Lucas never made anything worse.

When I sold it in 2007 it had roughly 400,000km on it and I still see it on the road to this day.

The guy that bought it off me uses it for his landscaping business, so he beats it up too!

Hey, I'm just saying, use caution, and I can't recommend it because I stay away from it due to all the controversy. There isn't any reason to use it in a perfect running motor, because why screw with something thats already doing what it's supposed to do? I did say it was the ticket for something that needed a good band-aid, though, because that's where I hear the good stuff about it. The bad stuff I hear about it is when someone tries it in a high-revving engine, like a cammed up Honda or something.

^^^what he said, exbass...read it and weep!!! lol

No, you guys are wrong. Lucas does not make the oil "slimier" it just makes it thicker. And since it doesn't have any detergents or other additives, you're basically diluting the amount of additives in your oil like I said, ot is GARBAGE!! Go on believing all the marketing hype. Do you also have a Tornado installed in your intake? The oil analysis doesn't lie and shows what Lucas truly is.

I've used it and it never hurt, and it never really helped either. :dunno:

Above is dumb

^^^what he said and a lot more. Dumb and dumber.....lol

How exactly is what I said dumb? The viscosity of it is 615.3 cSt at 100 degrees C. That means it is THICK. Thicker than a 250 weight gear oil. Do either of you even know cSt means? If not, then kindly STFU and come back when you have some factual information instead of marketing bullshit. :bye:

I put the Marvel stuff in my Explorer, which had the "tick". It didn't do anything to silence the noise at all. I also used Engine Restore a few years later, and it didn't completely silence it, but it made it quieter. It also felt much peppier.

I've also used the Engine Restore in the Mustang. I personally think it's a great product. I should get some for the F150.
