Question about frt 60's

i wasnt gonna say anything......but u went ahead and did it, rear 60's will usually go for about 2-300 all day long, only the fronts are worth there weight in gold

damn I am so glad I had a friend parting out a truck. I bought '79 F-250 front and rear D60s for $150 for the PAIR.

ya, thats a 1k set out here EASY all day long

Hell, I was thinking about selling my for $100. Most D60 rears that I have seen go for about scrap price unless they have been done up (bored spindles, discs, 35 spline shafts).

then u would be a fool, out here a stock d60, especially if its out of a 80's or 90's ford, fronts go for damn near 1k on there one, and backs go for 2-300.

ask any guy that wheels out here, the ford front 60 is one of the most sought after rears, even moreso then rockwells which the market is being flooded with out here

I don't disagree on the value of the front axle, I just haven't seen the rears being sold for very much. I have seen D60 rears with disc brakes, and bored spindles go for less than $200. Just doing those two things along would cost you $500-$600 on a stock '78 rear axle. If you or someone you know would be willing to give me $200-$300 on my stock rear, shoot me an e-mail, I'm sure we could work something out. :icon_cheers:

Im with Hightech, I couldnt give away my rear 60. I literally had it listed for free and no one ever came and got it, so it went to the junkyard.

I know how to sell things, It sat at my house for almost a year, I got it for free so it wasnt a big deal, but It just shows that rear 60's arent worth that much.

no, i meant at any given time i know at least a dozen people looking for a d60 back rear, thats what i meant, so there is always someone i know that needs it, just a matter of time and money for the person....

I had an Idea. Can I swap over to a pair of ford knuckles and spindles? Then have a pair of shafts made of it with a one piece on the passenger side. All I'd have to do is put a blockoff plate over the opening for the CAD.

Just a thought FWIW.....
