puzzling... very.

the earlier 2.3's used a different mount, you might need the engine cross member bracket from a newer 4x4 2.3 ranger. On the newer ones the drivers and passenger side are the same, but one is upside down from the other. The older ones were a rubber wedge deal where the newer ones are a 4" diameter piece of rubber with studs sticking out either end.

mines an "87" 10/86 but the cross years for the mount that the stores say is 85-87 so i dont see why theres not one for it? cuz i have the solid mount not the hydraulic double stud thats inline... so its very puzzling to me. it really pisses me off got the truck thinking 20 bucks for mount half hour to put it in. its turned into a couple days of searching ordering and returning parts. i know what i need so i dont leave the store unless its the right one. i just dont understand why they dont make the damn thing! its gunna fail! theres no doubt about it. especially the drivers side thats the side that gets pulled and everything. ford wants $90 for one and cant gurantee it. napa wants 32 plus tax plus shipping from utah(im in washington) and cant gurantee its right then if its not i have to pay shipping back! serious.

yep, I see, Rock Auto has nothing for the drivers side... Like I was saying, it might be easier to find a '88-97 4x4 2.3 ranger and snab the driver side brackets and mount from a junk yard.

good luck finding one.... no one has the 2.3l. they last to damn long and rarely ever show up in a junkyard. ive seen maybe 3 2.3s in any ranger of the 5 junkyards ive been to... thats not each. thats total

yeah, when I happned upon my donor chassis I lucked out, just wish it was a year newer to get the D35 up front...

Did you try Bob's in spokane? All he deals in is ford truck and suv parts.

iirc theres a way to use the single body mounts with these. left or right.

otherwise chain it down for now and build a mount with a leaf eye when you get time.

i got a 3/8 grade 5 bolt holding the mount together.. hasnt broke or let the engine twist around...

mine not the stright hydraulic mount. thats the problem, i have the solid one thats at a 45 degree angle.

anyone have any bright ideas on where to get one of these? no parts store has them.

Is it possible that the mount you currently have is not the original mount? Maybe someone rigged the mount you have in there just to get by for a while. Might not be a ford mount at all. I wonder if a mount from a similar year/engine of ford car would work...

its the original it fits 110% perfect. the 84 ranger 2.8 bottom half is right and the 87 b2 2.9 top half is right. but cant find the correct combo on it.
